You've apparently been away from Cincinnati for quite some time. I live in West Chester and I don't particulary care for "lazyboy" furniture. My last four furniture purchases were at Bova, West Elm, IKEA and Pottery Barn. West Chester is the perfect candidate because it is a growing upper-middle class community with a lot of exposure. I-75 is a highly traveled interstate which will bring in not only those people who are intentionally making the trip to the IKEA store but also people passing through the area.

When was the last time you saw the Union Center exit? It's a growing up scale little hub with hotels, resturuants and trendy dining. It's pretty darn appealing especially when you consider hwo much room long the 75 there is still.

Sorry, but I lived in Cincinnati for 20 years before moving to Columbus and I cannot see how IKEA could ever open a store in West Chester. The demographics are all wrong. There are too many conservative yahoos disbursed in southeastern Ohio, northern Kentucky and southwestern Indiana to make it a market for IKEA. The typical Cincinnati resident is just too provincial and traditional. This is Lazyboy territory. Contrast this with Columbus, which already has DWR and Crate and Barrel stores.

Why would they put IKEA in West Chester? I think somewhere closer to the city would make more sense for them. When you think of what they sell and the type of people who shop there, West Chester doesn't seem right.
